Security Posture Dashboards

Turning tens of thousands of assets into an at-a-glance read on where security coverage is missing.

the problem //

Security teams managing tens of thousands of devices need to answer basic but high-stakes questions fast: which assets have no endpoint protection, which haven’t been scanned for vulnerabilities, and where is risk actually concentrated. Buried in raw asset inventories, that picture is nearly impossible to see, let alone act on.

Endpoint Detection, MDM & Vulnerabilities

what it solves //Where is our protection coverage missing, and by what dimension?

  • 01Three tools, one structure — EDR, MDM, and Vulnerability Scanning each get a dedicated section, but all three follow the exact same layout.
  • 02Same pattern, every time — a summary donut (installed vs. not, scanned vs. not) followed by matching breakdowns by OS type, location, and profile.
  • 03Learn once, apply everywhere — understanding the EDR section means the MDM and Vulnerability sections need no new learning at all.
  • 04One continuous scroll — a user can move from “what’s our overall coverage” to “which location is most exposed” for any of the three tools, without switching to a separate report.

Overview / Security Posture

what it solves //What’s our full risk posture right now, and where do I dig in next?

  • 01Instant status check — color-coded summary cards (Device Risk, Vulnerability, Incident counts) up top mean severity is legible before any chart is read.
  • 02Density as the signal — the VLAN Viewer heatmap uses color intensity to flag high-risk VLAN clusters instantly, faster than any table of numbers could.
  • 03Three ways to slice the same data — Device Groups, Categories, and Profiles sit side by side, so a team can pivot from “what kind of device” to “what function” to “who makes it” without re-querying anything.
  • 04Trends close the loop — incident and vulnerability trends reuse the same severity colors from the top of the page, so reading a trend requires no new visual vocabulary.
  • 05One page, two jobs — works as both an instant executive glance and a starting point for an analyst’s deeper drill-down.

design strategies //

  • 01Severity as a consistent visual language — Critical/High/Medium/Low color coding repeats everywhere, so risk is learned once and read everywhere.
  • 02Structural repetition across tools — identical summary-plus-breakdown patterns mean learning one section teaches the rest.
  • 03Multiple pivots on one dataset — Groups, Categories, and Profiles let the same assets be sliced by whatever question is being asked.
  • 04Density-as-signal visualization — the VLAN heatmap makes risk concentration visible instantly, without reading raw numbers.

outcome //

What used to require manually cross-referencing separate reports for EDR, MDM, and vulnerability coverage became two focused, visually consistent dashboards, letting a security team move from “how exposed are we” to “which specific gap do we close first” without leaving the page.

abstract //

At Ordr I owned core product flows and dashboards for Ordr Protect — a B2B SaaS platform unifying detection, investigation, response, and administration into a single coherent interaction model. I designed Ordr AI CAASM+ for comprehensive asset inventory across IoT and OT environments, the Asset Graph for vulnerability visibility across complex device relationships, and the Ask AI copilot using progressive disclosure to simplify dense security workflows.
